THE ECLIPSE

Design Overview

Seeming to draw inspiration from the name itself Eclipse, a modern club space, captures a fusion of cosmic elegance and avant-garde minimalism. Through striking use of monochromatic tones, lunar-inspired sculptures, and undulating forms, the club embodies a futuristic atmosphere while maintaining a sense of grounded sophistication.

Entrance & First Impressions:  Entering via a infinite mirror tunnel , the space comprises of the dance floor at centre with seating on either sides and the bar area tucked away at the corner. Upon entering Eclipse, guests are greeted by a massive lunar eclipse goddess “ Selene” affixed to the wall, setting the celestial theme instantly. The walls are textured in a dark gray tone, reminiscent of the moon’s surface reinforcing the lunar narrative. This bold choice, paired with the soft, muted color palette, ensures that while the club feels cutting-edge and futuristic, it’s also steeped in elegance.

Bar Area: The bar’s design follows a clean and contemporary aesthetic, lined with smooth panels that are bathed in soft lighting. The bar’s design features an in-lit Corian top , engraved with celestial symbols and showing different phases of eclipse. The name “Eclipse” glows from the center of the bar, backlit with a subtle glow, which serves as a focal point and contributes to the club’s thematic identity.

The textural details across the walls are not just decor but art installations. Circular moon-inspired structures in various sizes protrude from the walls, replicating lunar surfaces, and give depth to the space. This bold choice, paired with the soft, muted color palette, ensures that while the club feels cutting-edge and futuristic, it’s also steeped in elegance. The artistic representation of craters and moonscape carvings ensures the club's theme is felt throughout.

Seating & Spatial Layout: One of the more eccentric elements is the parametric seating area that stretches along the length of one wall. Constructed from layers of plywood, the seating undulates like the surface of sound waves, providing guests with a comfortable place to lounge but also serves as a conversation piece, emphasizing the blend of art and functionality. The overall layout is designed to maximize flow of service and circulation.

Lighting & Atmosphere: Lighting plays a crucial role in the mood of Eclipse. Soft spotlights illuminate key features, such as the sculpted wall art and bar, while other areas remain dimly lit to provide a more intimate, mysterious ambiance. The lighting, combined with reflective surfaces and dark tones, evokes the sensation of being in the shadow of an eclipse—a transformative, immersive experience.
